Hi there!
I am a writer, copy editor, media relations specialist and journalist, currently based in Tiohtià:ke/Montreal.
My very first piece of writing was published in my primary school’s newsletter when I was seven years old.
Naturally, it was about unicorns.
Thankfully, my creative and professional endeavours have improved with age.
Since then, I earned bylines in the Irish Independent, The Herald, The Irish Times, Montreal Rampage and other titles before my mid-twenties.
Straight after university, I joined the Irish Independent and The Herald as a full-time news reporter – becoming a seasoned journalist, feature writer and interviewer in the process.
After moving from Ireland to Canada, I brought my skills from the newsroom to the non-profit sector and served as a content writer, copy editor and communications advisor at Trans Canada Trail for three years.
As a copywriter, telling exciting stories about people and organizations that give back to their communities has always been my goal. Since first dipping my toes into freelancing in early 2021, I have been proud to work with The ISPCC, Tree Canada, among other amazing clients.
By now, you’ve probably noticed that I’m using UK/Irish spelling. But don’t panic – I’m also at ease with The Canadian Press Style and AP Style, among other style guides.
For me, journalism, copy editing and storytelling are not mere “career paths”; they are vocations that I couldn’t imagine my life without. Outside of work, I have been honoured to tell stories for fantastic events like Confabulation and Yarn.
